Rehabilitative
The Rehabilitative Department at Mount Meru Hospital focuses on the provision of rehabilitative services to patients recovering from illnesses, injuries, or surgical procedures. In facilitating the recovery process, the department adopts a multidisciplinary approach that promotes independence.
Multidisciplinary Team
The department is designed around a multi-disciplinary team of professionals: physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and rehabilitation nurses. This approach to care ensures that all patients have their treatment plans.
Patient-Centered Care
The Rehabilitative Department focuses on a philosophy that places the patient and their family at the heart of the rehabilitation. Education and support are very much part of the care given to enable patients to take charge in their journey towards recovery.
The Rehabilitative Department at Mount Meru Hospital is committed to helping patients reach their full potential toward independence with the best quality of life possible. The department stands at the core in the process of recovery through compassionate, evidence-based rehabilitation services that enable patients to reintegrate successfully into daily life and the community.
Rehabilitative services are available from Monday to Saturday. We have outpatient clinics and inpatient clinics. Outpatient clinics operate on Tuesdays and Thursday.
The rehabilitation department is comprised of three (3) units.
- physiotherapy which involves assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of human movement disorders due to physical disabilities, trauma, and illness
- occupational therapy which deals with training people to overcome the limitations caused by injury, illness, emotional or psychological difficulties, and developmental delay.
- prosthesis and orthotics.
