MT. MERU HOSPITAL RECEIVES DONATIONS WORTH TSH. 15 MILLION FROM PCCB

Mount Meru Regional Referral Hospital has received medicines and medical supplies along with other goods worth 15 million shillings from the Tanzania Anti-Corruption Commission (TACC) with the aim of helping save the lives of premature babies.

Handing over the supplies to the Medical Officer of Mt. Meru Hospital, the Director General of the Tanzania Anti-Corruption Commission (TACC) Mr. Chrispin Chalamila said that he and his fellow staff have provided medical supplies, medicines along with other essential needs for premature babies to help reduce the challenges and costs of caring for these babies.

"We, the employees of the Tanzania Anti-Corruption Commission, have decided to raise funds and raise a total of 15 million shillings which we have used to purchase a machine to provide warmth to children, medicines, medical equipment and other essential needs to simplify the exercise of providing health care and reduce the cost of caring for premature babies," said Mr. Chalamila.

Mr. Chalamila also called on Tanzanians to be patriotic by coming forward to help public institutions as well as those who cannot afford medical treatment as it will reduce the government's costs considering that the government serves many institutions and by doing so will simplify the exercise of providing health services.

And the Medical Officer of Mount Meru Regional Referral Hospital, Dr. Alex Ernest has thanked PCCB staff for their donations that have made it possible to purchase a device to provide warmth to children, medicine and essential needs for premature babies as it not only increases the efficiency and reliability of service delivery but also brings relief to parents who cannot afford to buy essential needs for children including nutritional supplements and other essential products.

Dr. Alex has stressed that the donations will be taken care of and used properly so that they can last and help many Tanzanians.

In addition, PCCB staff have visited the emergency services building for leaders, tourists and VIPs where they have been impressed by the innovation and investment in modern technology equipment for the provision of health services.

The activity has concluded with the planting of trees that will improve the environment of the Mount Meru Regional Referral Hospital, where the Director General of the Tanzania Institute for the Prevention and Combating of Corruption, PCCB, Mr. Chrispin Chalamila, has led the exercise.
