SIX AFRICAN NATIONS VISIT MOUNT MERU TO LEARN

More than six countries from Africa have congratulated the Arusha Mount Meru Regional Referral Hospital, for the provision of good health services to citizens based on the 5s Kaizen philosophy.

These compliments have been given by the States following their visit to learn how the Arusha Mount Meru Regional Referral Hospital has been successful in providing quality health services to citizens.

Commenting after the visit, Hisahiro Ishijima, who is the Chief Advisor of the JICA project in Tanzania, said that Mount Meru Hospital has continued to do well in the implementation of the 5s Kaizen philosophy with the aim of improving the provision of health services.
"About 15 years have passed since I arrived at Mount Meru Hospital for the first time and at that time the hospital was unorganized and unsanitary and the staff did not have sufficient understanding of Quality and hygiene issues but after various trainings The philosophy of 5s kaizen now the hospital is doing very well" said Mr. Hisahiro Ishijima.

On the other hand, Mr. Hisahiro has congratulated the management of Mount Meru hospital for the good management that has brought great results in the hospital.

"I believe that the commitment of Dr. Alex Ernest is the biggest stimulus for the improvement of the quality of health services in this hospital and currently the hospital is at the highest level of quality, so 5s Kaizen TMQ has been carefully considered in this hospital", said Mr. Hisahiro Ishijima.

And Dr. Collin's Phiri from Malawi has said that after their visit to Mount Meru Hospital in various units, they have found that Mount Meru Hospital is doing well at high levels and based on the 5s Kaizen philosophy.

"I have visited many hospitals in the continent of Africa and this is one of the best hospitals and I think it is because of the good leadership and enthusiasm of the employees, so the percentage of 5s Kaizen is very high and this is a model hospital in the continent of Africa" said Dr. Collin's Phiri.

For his part, the Medical Incharge officer of Arusha Regional Referral Hospital Mount Meru, Dr. Alex Ernest has explained that the implementation of the 5s Kaizen philosophy has not only improved the performance of employees and simplified the provision of services to citizens but has also led to an increase in income from 6 million shillings per day Up to 25 million Tanzanian per day.

"Through the implementation of the 5s Kaizen philosophy, we have witnessed an increase in income from 6 million shillings per day to 25 million Tanzanian shillings per day" said Dr. Alex Ernest
