MOUNT MERU HOSPITAL COMES IN ANOTHER WAY TO SAVE THE LIVES OF ARUSHA

Mount Meru Regional Referral Hospital is expecting to launch new health services for its citizens, including Laparoscopic Surgery, Cancer Drug Delivery and Air Treatment that will help save the lives of citizens.

This was stated by the Chief Medical Officer of the Regional Referral Hospital, Dr. Alex Ernest while giving a report on the implementation in the second quarter of the government year at Mount Meru Hospital.

Dr. Alex has explained that the new Laparoscopic Surgery service is expected to start operating in October 2025 where it will help save the cost and time of the patient's stay in the hospital, increase the efficiency of work for service providers, as well as reduce side effects and leave a smaller scar after surgery.

"This surgical service through the holes will begin to be provided in October 2025 and will help save the cost and time of the citizen's stay in the hospital, it will increase efficiency, and reduce the effects of remaining with a large scar after surgery". Said Dr. Alex Ernest, Director of Mount Meru Hospital.

He also explained that various stakeholders in collaboration with the Ministry of Health have built a chemotherapy building which will begin providing cancer treatment services from May 2025, for the citizens of Arusha Region and neighboring regions where the service will help to obtain medicine and save the cost of traveling to seek services far away.

Dr. Alex noted that the building was built by development stakeholders due to the benefits they have received after the Honorable President of the sixth term, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassani, opened the doors of tourism through the film "The Royal Tour" which has brought great results to the citizens.

In addition, other new services expected to be provided to citizens include access to blood sample results after the completion of the Safe Blood building, the start of home-based care for those citizens who need support services at home.

In addition, Dr. Alex Ernest has concluded the performance report for the past three months by urging citizens to continue using their hospital as the government has continued to make major improvements while encouraging them to present any challenges they encounter when accessing services at the customer service desk and if necessary even in his office and that any employee found guilty of various offenses will be taken action in accordance with the Law.
