Mount Meru Regional Referral Hospital leads in cleanliness

Mount Meru Regional Referral Hospital has emerged as the winner of the 2024 Health and Sanitation Competition for referral hospitals.

Second chance was taken by Manyara Regional Referral Hospital while third was taken by Kigoma Regional Referral Hospital - Mawani

The competition is organized and run by the Ministry of Health where the winner in various categories is determined by reviewing the achievement of various criteria.

Among the criteria are environmental care and improvement, water availability, waste management, use of good toilets in households, business areas and institutions.

The Ministry of Health, through its statement on the list of winners, has stated that for the year 2024, the competition involved city councils, municipal councils, town councils, district councils, village councils, local councils, universities, district hospitals, regional referral hospitals, primary schools and secondary schools.
