Arusha.
Hon Christina Mndeme, Deputy Secretary General (Environment) of the Office of the Vice President, complimented Mount Meru Regional Referral Hospital on its success in using clean energy for cooking, and urged other institutions to follow suit.
Mrs. Christina Mndeme stated this during her visit to the hospital to review the implementation of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan's order to all institutions that serve more than 100 people to transition from the use of unsafe cooking energy to clean cooking energy by the thirtieth of the eighth month 2024.
In addition, Mr. Mndeme stated that the Arusha region referral hospital has carried out the President's instruction by taking efforts to cut high operating expenses while simultaneously continuing to care for the environment and avoiding adding to hot air in the upper atmosphere.
"I want to tell you that by implementing this order to cook clean energy, you at Mount Meru Referral Hospital will set a good example for other institutions to follow because you have saved a lot of money on operating costs while also helping to save people's lives by not cooking unsafe energy. Congratulations, said Ms. Christina Mndeme.
He has also stated that using clean energy for cooking is not only beneficial to lowering living costs, but it is also more environmentally friendly in dealing with climate change, which is frequently caused by deserts and filthy air in the upper class.
