The Ministry of Health has achieved a major milestone in improving healthcare services by completing the medical oxygen production project at the Arusha Regional Referral Hospital, Mount Meru.

The project is expected to increase the availability of this essential oxygen supply for patients, reduce the cost of accessing medical oxygen, and strengthen healthcare services at the hospital and surrounding areas.

The Acting Medical Officer in Charge of Mount Meru Hospital, Dr. Kipapi Mlambo, officially received the project completion certificate from experts of NOVAIR from France and SIGMA, who were the main partners in the implementation of this project.

This modern plant has the capacity to produce 20 cylinders of medical oxygen within 24 hours, addressing the challenge of oxygen availability at the hospital and improving the efficiency of critical units such as the ICU, operating theatre, and wards that require large amounts of oxygen.

The success of this project is part of the Government’s efforts to enhance healthcare services and increase national oxygen production capacity to save lives and ensure quality services for patients.
