Chemotherapy Services Begin at Mount Meru Hospital

Mount Meru Referral Hospital in Arusha has officially started providing cancer treatment services through chemotherapy, a step aimed at improving access to cancer care for residents of Northern Tanzania.
The services began following the completion of a dedicated oncology building and the installation of medical equipment through collaboration between the government and various health stakeholders.
The unit is expected to serve more than 300 patients per month, offering treatment for different types of cancers that require chemotherapy, thereby reducing the need for patients to travel long distances in search of care.
