World Kidney Day 2026 Commemorated at Mount Meru Regional Referral Hospital, Arusha

The 2026 World Kidney Day celebrations were held at Mount Meru Regional Referral Hospital, where free early screening services for kidney diseases were provided to residents from Arusha and neighbouring regions. The event gave the community an opportunity to check their kidney health and receive professional advice from specialist doctors.
The chief guest at the event was the Representative of the Regional Administrative Secretary of Arusha, Moses Pesha, who encouraged the public to develop a culture of regular health check-ups to prevent serious illnesses at an early stage.
The celebrations were conducted under the theme: “Kidney Health for All: Caring for People and Protecting the Planet, “emphasizing the importance of personal health and environmental protection.
Through this event, the hospital continues to highlight its commitment to providing community healthcare services and raising awareness about early detection of diseases that could have serious health consequences.
